The INNOVO Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Universidad de Santiago de Chile prepares to celebrate its 12th anniversary.
It will do so by awarding the prize of Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 to Pablo Zamora, along with his partners of the innovative product called Not Mayo, by The Not Company.
The celebration will take place on Thursday, November 29th at 19:00 a.m. in the Isidora Aguirre Hall of the Vice Rectory of Outreach and Engagement building, at Las Sophoras 175 (Metro Estación Central).
NotCo is an entrepreneurship that, applying artificial intelligence, is able to replicate food of animal origin but using vegetables; for example, mayonnaise without eggs, milk, cows, and chicken pâté without chicken.
The co-founder of NotCo, Pablo Zamora, points out that agriculture is currently used to feed cattle, which has a low energy cost.
“Instead of feeding directly from plants, what we do is give plants to animals and from there we generate the foods we like to eat.”
However, “to produce a kilo of beef, 40 thousand liters of water are consumed, so the energy cost of producing animal protein is very high,” says Zamora.
At the meeting, the entrepreneur Pablo Zamora, CEO of The Not Company, will deliver the talk “Innovating from Denial,” in which he will address the food problems that inspired him to generate this undertaking, the history of the company and the creation process of the successful product Not Mayo.
During the event, you will also learn about the history of the company VESII, who will receive the award from INNOVO Center for Incubated Entrepreneurship of the Year 2018, for its success in marketing their innovative device, directed to small entrepreneurs, which interacts with the Internal Revenue Service, for automatic daily book keeping.
