Carolina Urrutia, Co-founder of Freemet, entrepreneurship incubated at INNOVO USACH Center was selected for the second year in a row within the 100 Most Influential Women of 2018.
The survey organized by El Mercurio together with Women Entrepreneurs has 17 years history, where the director of the newspaper himself, Carlo Schaerer, stressed that “100 Women Leaders” is an initiative with “profound conviction and is based on the idea that Chile will be a better country, as long as there is more equality between men and women.”
This acknowledgment of Carolina Urrutia consolidates the work of Freemet, which has been productive since last year, with her company that elaborates hypoallergenic cleaning and self-care products with the main feature of protecting human skin from heavy metals found in the environment.
The scientist and entrepreneur was selected from among over 600 applicants, where influential women are prominent in various areas of knowledge. This is why the incubator of INNOVO Center had the opportunity of sharing the podium with several important figures such as:
Laura Rosetti, of the biscuit factory Laura R; Carolina Echenique, creator of the snacks Tika Chips; Alejandra Mustakis, president of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Chile (Asech), and Josefa Monge, President of Sistema B Chile.
Other prominent women in business leadership were present, such as Anita Holuigue (director of TVN), Janet Awad (region chair for Latin America and country manager of Sodexo) and Valeria Flen (general manager of Soprole), the historian Sol Serrano, Winner of the National History Award 2018; sister Nelly León, chaplain of the Penitentiary Center of San Joaquin; boxer Daniela Asenjo, singer Camila Gallardo, Gladys Hernandez, leader of the ‘palomitas’ of Laraquete; journalist Javiera Suárez and María Paz Valenzuela, the promoter of altoalcancer.cl.
