After 12 years of management, Centro INNOVO of Universidad de Santiago, is preparing for a new challenge. As of May, its new headquarters will be fully operational in Ciudad Empresarial, one of the most important business centers in the country, where more than a thousand national and international companies operate.
This is a very important step not only for INNOVO, but for the entire Universidad de Santiago, since having its operations and institutional presence in the business world consolidates the vocation of our organization to impact the development of our country culturally, socially and economically, with projects of excellence that address the current challenges,” says the Director of INNOVO, Verónica Céspedes.
She explains that in 12 years, INNOVO has been able to always adapt to the trends of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, successfully transitioning from being a center focused on supporting the development of microenterprise, to the present, in which the work aims at to manage, link and disseminate technological ventures of Universidad de Santiago,
managing to contribute to society with initiatives that consider a high potential for innovation.
Noteworthy achievements of INNOVO include the liaisons with actors of the national and international ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship, generating collaboration networks with leading institutions. And also, the development of a community of entrepreneurs who participate in our activities both virtually and in-person.
The Challenge of Engagement
The Director of INNOVO, Verónica Céspedes, states the importance the University has conveyed to outreach and engagement in an array of areas. With regard to INNOVO, our contribution points toward the link between University and Business, which is what we have been doing since we started, but today this requires a new vision and new models of relationship, starting by positioning itself geographically in those places where business and companies are interacting.
In this sense, Centro INNOVO aims to connect companies with new opportunities and guide the new challenges demanded by companies.
We will take into consideration the importance of innovation in the planning process of a development strategy within the company, where the management of innovation requires a structure that systematizes and supports the optimization of activities aimed at generating new challenges and a greater competitiveness in their environment. However, it must be taken into account that that innovation on its own does not necessarily guarantee that the objective of improvement in the company is achieved,” explains Verónica Céspedes.
The new branch of INNOVO will be located at Edificio Magnus, Av. del Valle 928, office 203. It has modern spaces for working, meetings and training, and parking is available. We hope, from this new place, to continue to contribute with our experience in the development of the third mission of Universidad de Santiago, where knowledge transfer to society allows us to further develop entrepreneurship and innovation, concludes Verónica
